Justice For Marissa Banner

Pacific Northwest Alliance to Free Marissa Alexander

The Pacific Northwest Alliance to Free Marissa organized to create a banner and display it above a busy freeway in Seattle Washington on October 29th.  Special thanks to Helen Gilbert for organizing this event.

  1. Wish you guys luck, but you really need to inform the public. There are certain moments like this where the entirety of the public needs to step out of "their" own world and face common sense. She should have plead temp insanity under duress along side self defense/stand you're ground.

might I ask was the jury made up of predominantly white or a mixed?

  2. If she had surrendered the house to the husband, there is no ground for her to stand anymore.

She should have rented a cheap hotel, and billed the husband for it. Using a gun in any way to solve a domestic nonviolent dispute is a very bad thing.

    1. So Mr Happle, do you think the husband would have paid for it and do you know that she also had a newborn? Do you read the part about the garage?

    2. Mr. Happle, I am just hearing about but I do not agree with what you stated. Already a battered spouse, New born baby to protect as well as herself. I thinking you have no clue of what her mindset was like. So hopefully you've thought her case through and have a different opinion on what she should have done..

    3. Mr Happle

If u are in fear of your life and your childs life you have no idea what u are capable of. Sounds to me u are just as much as a womanizer as her husband. What the hell u mean surrender to the abuser hell she might be dead if she did that. I tell u what when someone is choking the life outta u how bout u surrender and let us know how that works out for u

    4. Mr. Happle What if the husband controls the money as well? how can you rent a hotel with no money up front? You just don't go to a hotel and say, bill it to my husband. My ex husband is serving life in prison for what he did to me 6 months after I served him with a restraining order. I was lucky enough for the first few days to have a friend get me a hotel. But these men have a way of finding you. and don't stop until they do. After 6 months of harassment having my car set on fire, break in's, rape, all kinds of stalking that a piece of paper (restraining order) doesn't stop and cops don't do anything about it finally came to an end when he broke in at 2am and put a gun in my mouth and other things I won't mention in front of my children. I wish I had a gun before it came to that. When you leave, that's when the abuse really starts.

    5. Just so you know, they neglected to mention that she later went back to this "Crazed" and abusive husband whom she was so called afraid of and made her fear for her life, that is what the prosecutor looked at, how can someone who claimed that they were so afraid for their life that they had to fire a gun go back to the person, they claimed threatened their life.

  3. What part of abusive husband you didn't understand, MrHapple?

  4. MrHapple: This woman was beaten before. She gave birth to a premature baby, no doubt born early from the beating. So she has no rights to defend herself? What was your stance with George Zimmerman/Travon Martin?

  5. the problem is she isn't well connected like Trayon's murderer. If she had been the daughter of a sheriff or something she could have killed him and they'd be all "you did the right thing."
but no, she's like any other victim of domestic violence, which is to say there may be no justice unless we fight for it.

  8. I do not know if it helps in any way but this news is starting to work it's way in the internet, so, I found out about this blog via a friend on facebook. The more people who know about this, the better and hopefully the magic of petition will do what it is supposed to do. I also would like to have an update for on this blog the last one about Marissa Alexander dates from before december 2012

In any case , I hope the lady and her child, are, doing well and if still in prison, I hope she will be set free immediately.

Strength to her and her family and justice for all victims!

  9. I found out about this through a meme circulating on Google+ https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-mNqgr6kNeVY/UeNXR4_0NJI/AAAAAAAABro/9sRzmbPm6IA/w432-h288-no/photo.jpg

It's not great as it gives no other details about her other than the 20 year sentence but it was enough to trigger me to find more. I've already posted about her and plan to post more. This story should have been international news. I have people who have circled me who are interested in trying to help.

  11. Unless one has been a victim of domestic violence, it can (but shouldn't be) hard to see what would drive a woman to pull out a gun on a man. As a victim of domestic violence, which involves the continual living in fear not only for your life, but that of your children, it is very plausible to pull out a gun on an aggressor. People think domestic violence is only the hitting or spitting or dragging or punching, etc. -- oh no, it's much more than that. There is SOOOOO much mental abuse that the victims are really on the verge of a nervous mental breakdown. I got divorced about 18 years ago from an abusive husband. I have bouts with depression and suffer from Post Traumatic Syndrome. I scream in when asleep and still have horrible nightmares. What a shame in our legal system!!! Many times I thought that it doesn't always protect the innocent, and in this case it is obvious.

    2. @coach dinera: if seems you don't know much about domestic abuse. Returning to the abusive partner, it happens all the time. Pay of the abuse includes making false promises, regaining trust, or convincing you that you can't make it on your own. Its not just the physical violence. With twins, pregnancy then premie in the NICU, I'm not surprised that one would try to keep things "stable"--not rock the boat too much--in order to weather the crisis.

Based on this, there is no stand your ground. If you flee, you no longer qualify to stand your ground. Absolutely ridiculous to assume so. Also, she said she fired into the ceiling, and that the garage door didn't work. Evidence proves otherwise...

  17. NewsBall.com wants to expose the jurors on this case that took less then 15 minutes to deliberate on sending this mother away for 20 years.

If you have the names or pictures of the 3 men and 3 women jurors, please send to info@newsball.com

If you have any lead whatsoever as to who we should talk to so that we can track down any of the 6 jurors, please give us that persons contact info.

We know it has been a few years, but we want to interview a juror or two - those that do not cooperate we will go ahead with our policy of anyone affecting anyone is subject to scrutiny and will publish any name or picture we find of any of them. If they want to interview though, we will allow that person to remain anonymous. Please spread the word. Those in the courtroom, even Marissa, can describe what the jurors looked like - their ages, etc - so we can begin to track them down.

We recently took on the Skylar Neese murder case & exposed the killer Shelia Eddy. Numerous outlets then reported on our story, including RadarOnline & the Examiner.

We are offering a $1,000 reward / researcher's fee for the names of the jurors & their pictures. We want answers from Marisa Alexander's jurors, & if they refuse to tell us why they carelessly convicted her under 15 minutes - their names & pictures will be published
